Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 has expiry date?
Two years ago I upgraded my Vodacom contract with a Galaxy Fold 4. It is a 3 year contract. I did not take insurance out on the device (stupid). Message sent to Samsung below. A Samsung consultant contacted me back. They cannot do anything about it other than me sending it in for repairs. Will cost around R15000 to repair.
I would just like to display my disappointment with a Samsung product. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 4. I got the device on a 3-year contract with Vodacom. The warranty expired in September 2024. Soon after the device just switched off while using it. There was still around 60% battery power left. I was unable to turn it back on again. I plugged in a charger, but just got the grey circle with a white lightning bolt in it. I could never turn it back on or charge it again. The device was never abused or dropped. There was no warning that something was wrong with it. I sent it in to a Vodacom repair center to assess what the issue could be. Apparently, the screen and charging port went faulty. I was quoted around R15000 to have it repaired. It was not expected for the device to just give in after two years. (Just after the warranty expired?). Is that how Samsung now manufacture their devices? I still have another year left on my contract for which I now have to pay for a phone I cannot use anymore. I have always been a loyal Samsung customer. But might have to change my brand to other devices which do not expire after two years.
