Samsung Fridges Displays Fade and problematic
<p>Two Displays replaced in 4 years and now gone again, fridge now out of warranty and five years old today.</p> <p>Top End Double door side by side with bar door in door and icemaker in door. New cost in 2012 was R23,990.</p> <p>Liptronics does the service repairs and replace this display twice. Engineer that came out OK but Service Company useless, arrogant and plain rude. Not much help or support from Samsung on multiple display failures. Was also in process of getting another Samsung Fridge at R57000.00 but now sceptical as might also fail ever year. Two dealers said they had display failures on some models.</p> <p>Also Liptronics charge R560 to give you a quote on the cost of a part, they call in while passing to another client and walk in without being called, takes one quick look from the one end of the room and say yes it has failed and needs to be replaced, and said yes I remember changing it just over a year ago. Called Liptronics after no response for two weeks on a part cost, reply was first pay R560.00 then we will give you a quote for the part. All I asked them for in the first place was if the LED Display they had replaced twice was still under warranty and if not, what was the price of the display.</p> <p>Well that is the end of any Samsung product in my home, now looking at LG as reports say they have much better service, already switched to New LG's new OLED TV and very happy. Have 2 other Samsung TV's and 4 Top End Samsung PC monitors but after this service will be the last Samsung product in my house.</p>

Three people contacted me about my problem as they had same problem on a brand new model had it only a few months. Showed them my problem and it was the same thing. lements of the LED Display of Temprture and Icons Fade and display looks horific. About a year ago I recomended a friend to get a samsung fridge, Lo and behold had the same problem also after a few months. Of the people that contacted me from as far abroad as Australia had the same problems, it seems to happen on similar models from samsung including brand new ones with similar displays. They asked me if the display is LED will they have the same problem on Samsung TV's. I have had no problems so far with any of my Samsung TV's or Samsung Computer monitors. It is similar to BURN-IN on a TV monitor. But I presume it is very much more prominent on the LCD Display on the fridge as certain Icons and Bars of Tempreture Display remain on the same number 90% of the time so burnin is very noticable and disturbing. They should use better quality LED's in there appliance displays, or run them slightly dimmer, and display bright only when someone is changing a setting. My Miele apliances have never given me any display problems and have similar electronic Displays. I have many apliances in my home with LED Displays some are Amber some are White and Samsung is Blue. I have done some research on LED's and although Blue ones are quite bright they have the largest degredation rate. White and Green are the best.
