SAMSUNG FRIDGE /FREEZER COMBO

Hi, I purchased a Samsung fridge and freezer combo 4 years ago from Hisrches in Ballito . The freezer stopped working and i called Hisrches to arrange a repair. The call out cost me R850 rand and they advised me that the unit was not repairable. I arranged for Samsung to collect the unit to see if they were able to repair it. They collected the unit and advised me about a week later that the unit was unrepairable. I told them that i found it a little concerning that the fridge /freezer combo was only 4 years old and that i had paid R16000.00 for the unit was now useless. I requested that they offer some compensation as I am sure that the unit should last longer than 4 years, They offered to sell me a unit at a reduced price of R8000. 00.. I considered this unreasonable as the fridge was only 4 years old and outwardly in mint condition. Upon further ongoing negotiations over a 6-month period and me considering the offer, they advised that the unit that they offered me was out of stock and that if I wanted a replacement, it would now cost me R16000.00 I refused the offer as if I want to spend R16000.00 on a fridge i don't need any assistance from them. Be very wary about purchasing a Samsung fridge as the large sign on the fridge 10-year grantee applies only to the pump unit and nothing else.
