Samsung exploded

On the morning of 23 November, I put my Samsung A54 on charge as the battery was less than 10%. I turned around to go back to sleep, about 15 min later I heard an explosion, when I turned around my phone was on fire on my bedside table. Out of shock I hit the phone and it landed on my carpet. I grabbed the phone and threw it in the bath to stop the fire. My carpet got burned and my hand had small blisters. My phone was less than 20 months old. The box indicated 24 month warranty.

I sent Samsung an email as this could have been worse. My curtains are less than 15cm away from my bedside table and my house could have cought fire.

Samsung sent a courier and collected the phone. The result, the battery exploded due to external force? I have never let my phone fall, or bumped it against something? I was asleep when the phone cought fire? They blame me for the phone exploding? How is this possible? I have been a Samsung fan since the smartphones launched. I am so disappointed in the service and the feedback. I used my samsung cable provided and a SAMSUNG adapter, yet still this is my fault? What more should I have done to keep my 19 month old phone "safe" from exploding? This phone was bought on contract, not from a cheap shop.

Samsung, if this were another company, I do believe the damages would have been paid or the phone at least replaced!! I had to borrow a phone as I am without one! Horrible service!

No where did you tell my father that he has to pay for the assessment. We will not pay! If you had qualified Samsung technicians you would not have to send it to other places! No where did you inform my father he would be responsible for any costs!

Samsung just admitted they have no OFFICIAL SAMSUNG technicians to assist with assessments or repairs, they have to outsource help from other companies. Best of all, they phoned to collect the phone, no where, telephonically or in writing did they tell my father he is LIABLE for the "Assessment" costs!!!!!!!!! Should he not pay, he will be liable for storage fees??? Well done SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!! ********S Hard at work!
