Samsung Electronic Products Warranty **** **** ****!!!!!!!!
I have been promoting Samsung Phones as better quality and generally more compatible, with the various software and systems more frequently available in South Africa, than their direct competitors “Apple I-Phones”, but it seems that I have been fooled and mislead, so the joke is on me!!!
I bought my SAMSUNG Z FLIP 256GB DUAL SIM on the 19th of October 2021 which means it is still within its 48 months warranty period up and until today. While I was sitting in my office, with my phone laying on my desk next to me, and after a while when I opened my phone, the screen was completely black. My phone was in 100% working order, on my way to work which is +-45min drive, as I was using it to play music in my car, and I know for a fact that I did not drop my phone that day, or any day before that.
The next day, when I asked one of my employees to take the phone to the Samsung Electronics service centre in Menlyn Mall, for it to be fixed under its warranty cover, the service consultant issued me with a report advised me that Samsung have declined the warranty repair on my phone, because there is scratches on the side of the phone, the bending part which I understand is only a cover by itself and is also not protected or covered by the very expensive silicone phone protection cover, which I bought with the phone, at the time.
Which means that there is no way of preventing the a Samsung Z Flip from incurring normal minor wear and tear scratches, on this part of the phone, as none of the protective covers available for a Z Flip phone, can protect this part of the phone from incurring minor wear & tear scratches, as there is literally no protection cover, that exists or is offered by Samsung for this product, that will prevent this from happening.
Therefore, my view is simple, Samsung cannot decline a warranty claim on a Z Flip, purely based on minor scratches found on one area of the phone, which will happen over time if normal wear & tear is considered and Samsung also do not offer any product (Protection Cover) for this phone, which can prevent the bending side of the phone from incurring minor scratches as well!
By doing so, it seems to me that Samsung is looking for the smallest reason not to be kept liable for the costs associated with the warranty claim expenses, which to me raises the question if Samsung, or this product line, is not maybe in financial distress!!!!!
If so, then people should think twice before they buy this, or maybe any Samsung products in future, as you, as the user will be the only one out of pocket, if this is indeed the case!!

After my previous post on the 24th of May 2023, I then had no alternative but to proceed with lodging a Claim, with my short-term insurance service provider, for my Samsung Z Flip Cell phone to be repaired/fixed or alternatively be replaced.
