Samsung DVD player will not play dvds/Skips

I bought a brand new Samsung DVD player from Game during last year. I am unable to use the dvd player to watch any dvds as it never works, it wont read a disc or the disc will keep skipping the whole way through. There is no excuse that the lens may be dirty etc, as this was the problem since I took it out of the box. Now I have to use my laptop to watch a movie, astonishingly I can at least use the surround sound through an aux cable. I have always been fond of Samsung products but I will definitely not buy a samsung product again. I wanted to send an email to Samsung directly, but it is such a mission to find the product code etc, it does not appear on the page. A friend of mine bought the exact same dvd player, and has the same problem with the movie skipping the whole way through.
