Samsung does not honour warranty

I have been an avid supporter of Samsung products for years. This enthusiasm has dropped over the years because the quality and service is not the same.

Most recently, I have a problem getting my Samsung Galaxy Gear fit2 repaired under warranty, despite it being within the six months warranty period as specified by Samsung and the CPA.

Takealot declined the return because of user damage. What the hell! How can a broken clip on the strap be user damage? A quick search and a discussion with your repair centre revealed that these straps are highly problematic. The watch and strap still look brand new. Furthermore, they refuse to send the watch for a software update.

I suspect this is because Samsung does not do replacement straps and they know they will have to provide a refund or replacement. This is the 3rd Samsung watch with the same problem. I will discourage anyone from buying a Samsung watch as the quality is extremely poor. I have a Garmin watch for a year now with no problems whatsoever. I don't understand how a watch occasionally worn can be so problematic! This is become the Samsung watches is problematic.

Samsung honour your warranty or I will refer the matter to the Ombudsman. I am appaled by the service.
