Samsung Coverup
I recently found an item that I have been looking for, for more than a year. so you could imagine my exactment when I saw this exact item posted on Facebook at a very affordable price... I was ecstatic.. and jumped on it to purchase the item... then only to find that when I click on the link the items cost a lot more than advertised. So i do what any consumer would have done and queried the price difference, after a week of back and forth emails showing them pictures where the item was advertised on Facebook as well as Instagram and Samsung every time telling me that the price they have on Facebook and Instagram is not the right price and that the price online is the correct price. A Samsung representative phoned me on a Friday morning and say "i am so sorry but that's the price and there is nothing they can do for me. i then went back on Facebook to see the item only to find that after a week they changed the price on Facebook to the correct price.
I have all the communication and Pictures if ANYONE is interested to see how samsung treats the consumer when they clearly made a mistake.
To top it all of I received another call to say that they are investigating the situation and will send feedback, with no surprise that was 10days ago... just another coverup by samsung and they hoping that it will just go away.
what an unsatisfying experience with samsung that leaves me with a bitter taste on buying ANY samsung products... to mention this was just before the Launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 ( which i wanted to buy ), and because of this i don't think that Samsung wants me as a customer. But that's ok i guess they are happy to loose me to a competitor......

Making a mistake is one thing, not owning up to the mistake is a totally different thing, something that samsung seems to think they are better than the consumer.
The Below was taken from an article made by the CGSO Consumer Goods & Services Ombud
Price:1 23(6) Subject to subsections (7) to (10), a supplier must not require a consumer to pay a price for any goods or services— (a) higher than the displayed price for those goods or services; or (b) if more than one price is concurrently displayed, higher than the lower or lowest of the prices so displayed…
Something which samsung has Failed to do.
Is Samsung saying that they are Above the Act and that this does not apply to Samsung ??
I am sure that i can take this higher in Samsung to see what they say about bringing in the Ombudsman.
Also same the the below - Taken from the same article
South Africa The principal that a supplier who voluntarily participates in an activity must bear the risks associated with it was already part of South African law: “ A bank which voluntarily decides to participate in a situation which has inherent risk was not entitled to complain and avoid its duty of care arising in that situation by pointing to the cost of safeguarding against the risk of the situation.”5
and it is very sad because i was looking forward in buying the new samsung phone, but how i got treated in regards to an advertised price and a price hike when i want to buy the item was disgracefully un-professional , i dont think that i will ever buy a Samsung phone even if it is the best phone out there ( in my opinion )
R800 cost you a sale of a new phone and that is not a great amount but the Credibility and integrity that Samsung had is LOST, which is worth a lot more that R800.
And yet all i will get is a phone call saying, sorry sir we are investigating the matter? and then it gets swept under the carpet, YAY a WIN for Samsung and a loss for a consumer.
