Samsung - Clearwater Malll Disappointing
I went online to the Samsung help page, and was told to go to a service center. My phone had fallen, and even with a screen protector and case, a small area of the phone had some pixel damage issue. I tried to fix it by restarting and the phone screen remained black. The phone itself works as I can feel it respond when trying to charge or reset. It's also about a month old.
I decided to go to Clearwater Mall Samsung, and when a technician came out, I tried to explain the context. This man didn't even take my phone and assess it or take a look at it, instead he debated me on my research (in a condescending tone) and proceeded to tell me I needed to purchase a new screen around R9000. The only thing he did was pull off the screen protector (which was unnecessary), glance at the screen state (which was obviously not cracked) and told me I have to wait for stock.
Today I called Samsung once I realized I'd received terrible and dismissive service, and a helpful woman who answered started mentioning other options as solutions (as very important and time sensitive info was on my phone, thus the emergency).
I'm now stuck with a dead phone and was asked that in other to get other suggestions I should bring in my phone to be assessed. Yet the previous day the technician did nothing of the sort. What is the point of buying a product and dealing with people who prioritize money over actual solutions? I'm so disappointed with the poor service. I'd had brand loyalty up til now, but now I might have to find a better brand.

Also, the rude technician told me I could go to one of the other repair places to get it fixed, but that I'd void any warranty from Samsung. Lol, what a joke ?! They give poor assistance and service yet warn me about relying on other places that could fix my issue.
FYI - If you go to the site to send an escalation mail ( which is offered on their site), you get an auto-response message created in March 2020. Honestly, they're hitting Eskom levels at this rate.

Why is the shop open if they can't provide a service?
They then said the technician at Clearwater was a freelancer, and that's the reason I'd been suggested to spend R9 000 for a new screen even though the warranty covered it. Once again no tests were run on my phone.
I look on this site and page after page Samsung has the lowest service ratings, so do yourselves a favour and get a Huawei. The guy at Samsung even said the high end products tend to have faulty screens. This experience has been beyond a s***- show. Please don't waste your time with subpar brands.
Oh the icing on the cake - I got a call to rate their response to this complaint, I guess appearances are way more important than helping clients. Ironically the Clearwater Center stays open until January. In the end I spent more time, energy and petrol and got zilch in return, except weak apologies.
