Samsung buy and get "reward".

In December 2020 I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator. This included a buy and get reward. I selected the Sorbet vouchers. Terms and regulations are provided. After a very technical and complicated registration riddled with sms's and passwords I was able to download vouchers. You are told to download vouchers on a monthly basis, but the vouchers DO NOT display an expiry date. I downloaded vouchers in Jan and Feb. During the lockdown level 5,4, 3 all Sorbet stores were closed. I was even contacted by the store manager to confirm that I could not use the buy and get rewards voucher as their in store pay points were still not available for use. Hence for 4 months I did not download the vouchers, as it could not be redeemed and the vouchers do not stipulate an expiry date. Hence I had assumed that Samsung would reasonably allow customers to download vouchers to an extended date and to be used at a time when it would be safe. These are SPA vouchers!! Had I downloaded the vouchers in the stipulated month and not used it, it would have expired and therefore I planned to continue downloading once the stores were up and running - note nowhere do Samsung provide voucher expiry dates. The world was and still is traversing a pandemic and it would seem logical that a huge brand such as yours would apply some logic, understanding and reasoning when customers stopped downloading spa vouchers so as to abide by government laws. Anyways I contacted the Samsung concierge service and was assisted by "A". He was very helpful but unfortunately informed me that Samsung decision not to "reward" me with the vouchers I didn't download during the lockdown was based on the rules and regulations of the campaign. So I had to forfeit R1200. Anyways, I'm not here to grovel for the forfeited vouchers but I'd like to highlight that your "reward" program is anything but that. Yes there are processes to follow to avoid any sort of ***** or misuse of vouchers, but it is the MOST UNFRIENDLY, COMPLICATED way to reward consumers for a Samsung purchase. You made no provision for the shut down of your participating stores.

Keep your vouchers that you refuse to honor. Hellopeter is riddled with complaints about this campaign, sometimes by fault of the consumer yes, but reavaluate the process of claiming vouchers and stop misleading people into a campaign that only a few will be able to successfully follow. It's designed to be complicated. Why not simply present the consumer with vouchers upfront on purchase with a claim date and expiry date. I wonder how many sales you have made based on the rewards programme and how many million reward and get vouchers have been forfeited thus far. Does your brand have a conscience?

Dear Samsung
With regards to your response above dated 31 Aug 13:01 - I was contacted by someone from the call centre to notify me that the issue has been escalated.

Today 01 Sep, I received 2 miss calls from no. *** no message recorded. The 3rd call was answered by my child. My child says the lady said, please tell your mum to call back. No name was provided. I called the number *** only to learn that this is a general switchboard no. I spoke to the lady that answered explaining why I called. She only said that someone called again to let me know the matter has been escalated.

So 4 phone calls from Samsung to only let me know this issue has been escalated ?

I await feedback.

Thank you

RB

And yet again, someone called from Samsung asking if I have been assisted or if complaint has been resolved?
