Samsung A70

I recently renewed my cellphone contract with Telkom with a Samsung A70 . Supposedly higher end device on the 6 January 2020. 3 Weeks later the phone constantly overheated and gave me all of 2 hours of standby time. I took into Samsung walk in centre in Canal Walk. I was advised that they have no dealings and referred me to We Fix that does repairs. Unapologetic and unsympathetic for a 3week old device giving such issues. We fix then advised they have a turn around time of 3-5 days for repairs. Today is day no 9 and the latest feedback was they waiting on spares. So I currently paying R500 pm for a new device that I have no benefit of and have been bluntly told by Samsung that they have a repair policy and wont swop it out or even give you a loan unit for. I am currently using a Huawei P8 lite with a cracked screen that has given me better service. I am appalled with the service I am receiving from Samsung. You would think Samsung would find this opportunity for market share to shine? So why does the industry still have “out-the-box failure” policies, whereby faulty phones will be replaced within a short period – usually a week – when this is the consumer’s right for six months? My 1st and last Samsung device and definitely going to spread the word on the raw deal I am receiving.
