Samsung 82 inch QLED TV Screen Failure in Two years
On 27/03/2020.(day of lock down)I bought an 82 inch Samsung QLED TV from Simplex Radio with 2 year warranty at a cost of R39999.00. This is Samsungs so called "Premium" line of TV. Three months out of warranty the TV just switched off while the children were watching a program. I approached the place of purchase who refered the complaint back to the manufacturer whom sent out a technician from TM Electronics (Samsung Certfied Repairer) to Assess. The technician concluded that the Screen had given in and that the repair cost would amount to R29900.00 for it to be replaced. The Question raised "Is This Acceptable for a renowned brands "Premium" class of items Longevity at such an exorbitant Price Tag? Is this why the replacement panel is not readily available and no tentative date can be given for availability because of known latent flaws after launch? Could this also be the reason why "Out of Warranty" service plans are knowingly sold to unsuspecting clients by the dealers. I will not recommend any of this brands items from a mobile phone to whatever carries the Samsung Name. Their after sales service is nothing to behold and does not portray any empathy toward the customers situation or loss of hard earned sweat. In the event of my complaint being viewed as sour g****s, I challenge anyone to purchase a Samsung product, spend the money I did and tell me otherwise. God forbid you do not end up rowing the same boat as myself. This is where all of my friends and family part ways with Samsung and revert to Sony audio visual products which warrants the price tag because of Quality & Longevity that gives one peace of mind without the purchase of OUT OF WARRANTY service plans.
