S7 Edge defective battery / Swollen back glass

So I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge last year September, just a few days ago I noticed that the back glass cover was coming apart from the phone. I Googled to see what might cause this problem and there was a number of cases reported that the battery was the issue, the defective battery swelled up and pushed against the cover. So I decided to take it to the Samsung Customer Care store in Nandi Drive, the consult immediately identified the problem as a swollen battery ( obviously indicating that this was a known issue) so I was told that it the warranty period for batteries is 12 months and I just missed it by 8 weeks! I was then told I need to cough up R1150 to replace the defective battery in my phone. I asked for the manager and he gave me a long story of how he could not help me and looked at me like this was the first S7 Edge with this particular issue he'd had seen. So I paid for it but I'm not happy that I had to pay for something that was defective from the factory and is a known problem. Samsung will not be getting any further business from me.
