Received defective products and get refused assistance

I received a Galaxy VR from the Samsung Rewards app as per the MTN contract. MTN has denied responsibility of the VR gear and refered me to the Samsung Customer Center at the wedge shopping center.

My brand new S7 would not fit into the plug on the VR Gear and due to receiving the gear through the rewards app, I did not have a receipt for it, they then refused to assist me further and went on to say the socket in my phone was broken even though it still works with both the fast charging plug, my car charger, my debugging cable at work and every single micro usb plug that I use.

When testing the VR, they used a similar Galaxy phone and plug it in but never initialised the vr to check if it actually works, they then told me that the VR's battery is low to which i rep**** it does not have a battery and is powered by the phone, he then told me that it has to run off of a seperate battery.

Obviously nothing was done.
