Pathetic service

Two to 3 years ago we bought an A03 Samsung mobile phone for my son from Pavilion in KZN. A couple days ago my son forgot his lock code and blocked the phone. This then required us to take the phone to Samsung customer services. I then took the original box and phone to Samsung in Springfield park which is in Defy. My experience was most frustrating and disappointing as Samsung thus far is a good brand. My son also put on a gel screen guard to protect the screen. The guy took the phone , looked at it and first said they would need to remove the screen guard and would not be able to put it back. I asked him why as it just needed to be unlocked. He said it's standard procedure, they would need to open up the phone to check everything is there. Ridiculous as it just needed unlocking. Then he asked for proof of purchase. I informed him I don't have it anymore as I bought it 2 years ago. He asked were from coz the phone could be ******. I told him here's the box for it. He still insisted I could be giving him a ****** phone to unlock so after 2 years of purchase I must go back to the store I bought it from and get them to give me a copy of the proof of purchase. I was furious. I took the phone and had it unlocked within 30 minutes without being dismantled or screen guard interned with at a local mobile shop. It is most frustrating. When a purchase is made of a phone, they take all your details down. They should be able to enter the serial number or something of the phone into their system and pick up details of purchaser. They expect us to either keep tons of purchase slips for 2+years or run around and get more frustrated while wasting time trying to get a copy. They could also have unlocked the phone and seen the data or pictures there, if then validly they suspected it ****** then report it. These 2 males I had the displeasure of meeting yesterday really frustrated me. So guys, if you buy a Samsung product, keep the proof of purchase ( ensure you keep it visible) for as long as you have the product, be prepared to have it dismantled for any reason should you need to use Samsung Customer services for anything or if not, be prepared to throw it away unless someone else can help.
