Pathetic service

My Samsung S6 edge started overheating as soon as I got to the beach in Durban. I was on a call which cut off and when I looked at my phone it said "your device is overheating..it will now power off to save data". I took it to a Vodacom store a few hours later and was advised that this is common and I should back up my data and take it to a Vodacom or Samsung when I got back home.

Upon returning to Jhb, I took the phone to Samsung Constantial Kloof Smart Care Centre. I advised of what happened and that the lock screen and home screen key failed to work on receipt of a call. A few days later I was provided with a quotation and informed that there was liquid damage on the phone. I argued that there was no way that the phone was near water (other than the beach) as I was on a call when this happened but that it was a very humid day.

They rendered the phone out of warranty and quoted over R6000 to repair.

Upon collecting the phone I noticed that the phone was not able to pick up a network signal and I informed them immediately. I was told that it would take a while as there was poor network availability in the store. I therefore left.

Over the next 2 weeks I was unable to make or receive calls. I complained again to Samsung who refuse to accept liabilty for further damage caused by them to the phone. I called the Samsung Centre 35 times on one day and was never able to talk to anyone. I left 3 messages for the Customer Services Manager to call me back and am still waiting for 3 weeks for a call. I sent emails to their customers services requesting repairs for damage that was caused by them and they have deleted the email without reading it twice.

While I have always been a loyal Samsung customer, I will never ever buy a Samsung product ever again. Their service is pathetic. They make mobile phones that are faulty and lay blame on the customer when repairs are requested on a faulty device.
