No warranty

I sent a Samsung Gear S3 watch in for testing at the Dion wired store at Mall of the South where I purchased it less than a year ago. Two weeks later I was informed that my watch was back and ready for collection. The reply from Samsung was " no fault found." The reason for sending the watch in was that it would not charge properly and the GPS intermittently stopped working. On collection I could see that the watch battery was draining really fast. I tried to charge the watch at home and it would not fully charge. I returned the watch to Dion wired again for testing. After around three weeks I was called by Dion wired and told that the watch was water damaged and I must pay to repair the unit. This seemed strange to me given that the watch has never been in water, but more importantly the watch has a very high IP rating against moisture ingress.

I decided to contact Samsung myself and enquire what was going on. Samsung exchanges department claimed that they would replace the watch when stock came in. I went back to Dion wired to tell them this. Dion wired then phoned me back and confirmed that I must pay for the repair.

What is really bugging me is 1) first report stated there was no fault. 2) Watch is IP rated against moisture ingress. 3)Only moisture watch has been in contact is perspiration which should be expected from a sports watch.

I have only been offered to either get the broken watch back or accept the repair costs.
