No feedback from Samsung Brooklyn
We handed in a Samsung Galaxy S4 for a repair to a broken screen on the 16th of August 2015. The lady at the store said that we should be able to collect within 3 weeks (Sunday 6 September 2015). When we enquired about the progress on Saturday 5th of September, the person at the store indicated that there is a quotation for the repairs. He printed a copy of the quotation dated the 21st of August 2015 which indicated that the phone was out of warranty and the cost to repair the phone was in excess of R 2000. The 2 year warranty period only lapsed on the 25th of August 2015 (according to the original commencement date of the contract on the 25th of August 2013), 9 days after the phone was handed in.
My first issue is that the phone was still under warranty and should be repaired without any additional cost and Samsung should be able to sort this issue out between themself and their repair agent.
The second issue is that no one at the Samsung store bothered to call me (between the 21st of August and the 5th of September) regarding the issue. If we did not enquire about the status, we would probably not have had any feedback as to the status of the repair.
