Misrepresentation of voucher displayed

We bought a fridge for R45 999-00 there was a big golden sticker on the door, stating a voucher to the value of R12 000 included to be used for flights or accommodation. This promise was just enough to convince me to buy this very expensive fridge. Now, with the redeeming of the voucher there is a lot of excuses and stories. After realizing this promise when used for accommodation, does not even include a breakfast, seems like you must fast when you go on this “luxurious” breakaway, we tried to make the best of it and got prices from African Pride Hotel, Mount Grace, for their best accommodation. That is in any case what we are used to, because I believe when you can pay R46 000 for a fridge you don’t stay in a mediocre place. We heard their Villa Private room for R4100 per night during 6-7 November 2018 was available. Already not happy, because we are now only getting R8200 (for 2 nights stay) instead of the R12 000 promised, we called your office to make the booking. To our amazement, your office could not even give us this, already below what was expected. They told us when we must go and in which room we must stay. Of the cheapest costing R2 082 per night, so a total of R4 164-00. I will not even be surprised if they have an arrangement with the hotel for this package and at the end of the day it is only costing them more or less R3 000-00. Is this Samsung’s attitude and service when it comes to their customers? It seems to me that they are really cheapskates trying to get away as cheap as possible, giving a promise in big writing for R12 000 but only willing to pay R4000. It is very interesting that we are talking about the very same place but one room R2000 and the other R4000 per night. I think this is actually Samsung trying to get away to pay nothing, because I am not used to the cheapest accommodation, but close to or the best.

Taking this information into account, I believe Samsung is misleading people and also lying to customers. They must really not put a big promotion on a product and then have a lot of terms and conditions that at the end of the day, actually means nothing. Rather keep your voucher and don’t offer it at all, seeing that you don’t actually want to give it!

I will really appreciate it if this matter can be investigated and steps will be taken so that companies will not in such a way, mislead and lie to consumers.
