Misleading Warranty: SAMSUNG SA

I am soooo dissapointed with Samsung SA, especially after being a loyal customer for so many years with most of my appliances being Samsung. This review relates to my Samsung S7 Edge purchased on the 23rd March 2016. A few months ago I have to take the screen in to be repaired, as it was badly cracked. Happy that the screen was still under warranty, I took the phone in and the screen was replaced, no problem.

A few months later I started noticing my cover starting to lift off the phone. On closer inspection the battery was swelling and lifting the back glass off the phone. I intianally took the phone to a Samsung store in Clearwater Mall and they advised me to take the phone into Samsung Constantia Kloof to be repaired. I took the phone in along with prrof of purchase. A few days later I received a lump sum bill for R9056!!!!! This is what the phone is currently worth now. I immediately wrote back to enquire and when I did not get a responce , I called the centre to enquire what was costing this much. I was told that Samsung's policy is to repair the entire phone and as there was a minor crack on the lower left hand side, they had to replace the screen , the LCD and the mainboard. I explained that the phones was in perfect order and that all I needed was for the battery to be replaced. No-one would budge on the price quoted. What I fail to understand is that if the battery is damaged and under warranty , then why should I pay for the replacement of the screen especially if it is not the issue? Is it my problem that the battery is overheating and swelling. Why must I pay for a back cover that came off due to the faulty battery? Why must I pay for the LCD and mainboard which may have been damaged due to the extreme heat from their faulty battery. The warranty clearly states that the battery is covered for 12 months and if it is an manufatural issue then I am not at fault - so how am I being held liable for this.

My levels in disspointment in Samsung SA have reached an all time high.

HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!!!!!!!

Next phone purchase will definately be under careful consideration.

I would like to have this resolved as soon as possible as I am now without a phone.

Reviewer Update

Well Now Samsung,

After a month and informing me that my cellphone would be repaired under warrenty because you were satisfied with the report from the useless Constantia Kloof team.

After consistantly following up with the VOC team, i got a responce that my phone will be repaired under Warrenty and that I woudl have to take the phone back to SAmsung. I took the phne back, still in it's plastic bag that it was given to me in pieces.

After 7 days of no update I decided to call the cservice centre to find out waht was happening. No-one has feedback. So I contact the VOC agian to find out if they can help me. What am I told, that my phoen will infact not be repaired now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like what th F@c****!!!!!!!! You told me it would or I would have made another plan. Plus now I have waiseted close tot he R9000 you had charged me initially to go back and forth in time and time off work to bring the phone back.

this is the last time I will ever buy a SAMSUNG ANYTHING!!!!!
