I don't recommend Samsung phones
In November 2022, I bought my Galaxy A73 from Incredible Connection. I had no issues with the phone until March of this year (2024).. It started losing service, and I'd only be able to use WIFI. I noticed that whenever there was a software update available, the 'no service' issue would start. What annoyed me is that both my SIM cards would work in another device. The issue got reso resolved by me doing a factory reset, and I thought that was the end of it. However, in May, the same issue started, so I checked for a software update, updated and a factory reset AGAIN. Everytime I'd experience this, I'd also contact the Samsung electronics team for assistance. In June, my phone went to 'no service' again, so I updated the software that was due, and reset my phone. In July, the same story happened, however, there was no software update and a factory reset didn't work. To add injury to assault, when I posted on the Community forum, other people with Galaxy A-series phones said they were experiencing the same issue, and there was no response from Samsung at all. About a week later, the phone then required a 'fingerprint calibration', so my fingerprint sensor was not working. I then initiated an online chat and was advised to take my phone to SSS cellular so that they could diagnose and see how they can fix it. I took my phone in, signed many forms, including one that said that opening my phone 'would further damage it'. When I left my phone with SSS cellular, it was working well, the screen was not broken, the only issues were 'no service' and 'fingerprint calibration needed'. I was then quoted R10129 to fix the phone as it was 'bent'. I respectfully rejected the quote and said I'd fetch my phone. When I went to collect it, it was not switching on. I refused to take it and told them I wanted it back in the state that I had given it to them. The manager (very helpful), explained to me that what they use to open the phones can possibly further damage them. To me, this didn't make sense, and I maintained that they could have called me if they had noticed a physical issue with my phone before using that machine\equipment to open it, but they failed to do so. After arguing for more than an hour, the manager at SSS offered to escalate the issue with higher management, and I should provide them with all the instances I had been calling Samsung electronics for assistance. About a week later, I was advised that my phone was repaired through warranty.
I'm here to say I do not recommend Samsung phones, even though they are nice, user-friendly, they will give you issues; they are not for long-term use. In fact, while I was waiting for them to check why my phone was not switching on, another two ladies came in with the same problem 'no service', one with a Galaxy A73 and the other with a Galaxy S series. I totally do not recommend Samsung phones!
