Horrid service for screen repair

Samsung has the worst service ever!! I have an s7 edge which is in immaculate condition and never dropped, this morning I dropped the phone (which I acknowledge is customer negligence) however upon purchasing the phone from MTN Pavilion I was told that the phone gets a free screen repair should it get dropped and cracked, I never worried about that at all as I don't mishandle my phones and I'm usually not accident prone however in this instance it happened to drop and the top right corner of the screen cracked, I called the repair Centre who advised that it's only covered within the first 12 months which was a surprise to me because MTN never advised of a time frame which as the consumer left me to assume it's the warranty duration, my phone is a little over a year old, they refused to help, I then called the head office and spoke to a technical support person called Bubelo, he also said nothing they can do and I must call MTN and tell them to do something seeing as they promised this, I was absolutely astounded because as the consumer you'd expect some sort of "okay let me escalate your matter or we can try and see what we can do" not tell me to deal with it on my own and there's NOTHING they can do, to pay almost R17 000 for a cellphone where the glass is now cracked (not even the LCD) with ZERO customer service is absolutely absurd to say the least! I've always only used Samsung and swear by the brand, being in the retail environment as well and working with cellphones too I could never give such poor service and not even the willingness to assist, I think it's absolutely pathetic that Samsung has this non Challant "not my problem" attitude with their consumers and it's such a shame because after this experience I will never recommend Samsung again, you'd imagine the willingness would atleast be there, the phone doesn't have a scratch on it and was bought on contract and isn't even out of warranty. Extremely disappointed & the quotes I'm getting are nothing less than R3500!! Shame on you Samsung!
