Gear s2 strap badly made

I purchased a Samsung Note 5 with the Gear S2. After 5 months of having the watch the straps have broken from very basic use. Taking it off and putting it back on has caused the straps to break as well as the links to come loose. The problem I have with this is that when sent in for repairs to Samsung Repair centre, I was told that it would not be covered under warranty because it has been physically abused. I find this to be ridiculous. The links on the watch are glued on for Pete sake. So now I have to pay for new straps out of my own pocket with no guarantee that they will last. Samsung have been unwilling to help. I even offered to take an older watch in exchange for this one but to no avail. Neither Vodacom nor Samsung have been willing to help me. Just take my money and don't help me afterwards. Great customer "care". Even the manager of Vodacom East Rand Mall just apologised and said there's nothing we can do. So I asked why nobody offered me insurance on the watch knowing full well that this problem could occur. I received a shrug of the shoulders. What do I do?
