Failure to replace or repair a defective TV.
I purchased a Samsung 58-inch Smart Television from Makro in CPT. Exactly a year later it was faulty and had to be returned. The TV was repaired only for exactly the same problem to re-occur a year later. The TV was a few days out of warranty, but considering the aforementioned it was repaired without charge. Last month, exactly a year later, again the same problem occurred, and the TV had to be taken back to Makro for a 3rd time. It is important to note that it is the same part breaking each time and the repairs quoted cost approximately the same amount as the TV was purchased for. I requested Samsung to again repair the TV without charge or replace it with a like model, as it was clear that this was a defective set. Their short response was that it is out of warranty and for my own costs. One purchases branded products with an expectation of quality, backed by service. It is extremely disappointing that a company like Samsung sells one a defective product, which requires the inconvenience of returning the product 3 times in three years, only to be left without a TV, now having to incur the expense of a new TV and Samsung not claiming any responsibility for this. Treating customers fairly, I think not.
