Expensive TV breaks after 2 years
Purchased a Samsung 60inch plasma January 2013. Over the holiday period this year the TV started having issues (vertical lines, losing signal, turning off). Contacted the store purchased from and they advise warranty period has expired to contact Samsung directly. The warranty has literally just expired. They will not replace/refund the TV and advised they will assist with the part but I am still liable for labour and other repair costs. Upon speaking to experts in the field and doing my research these issues are apparently common with these big plasma units.
We paid R17400 for this TV thinking it would last many years but now see this will not be the case and I really am not impressed.
This is my first Samsung product and I think it will be the last.
What I would expect is a great big apology together with a refund. At the very least exchange it for a LED version which will hopefully not prove to have these issues.
