EXPENSIVE Samsung Gear Fit 2 Replacement straps

We bought Samsung Gear Fit 2 fitness watches a few years ago. Great Watches. Unfortunately due to everyday use, the straps are now worn out en broken. Thus need replacement. And the problem starts. I enquired about the replacement of the straps telephonic with Samsung Store at The Grove Mall. The sales representative informed me that the replacement of a single strap will cost more than R1000. I repeatedly asked if this was correct as the watch when bought costs just over R2000. Surely this is insane. At almost half of a new watch I must buy replacement straps? I know I can buy the replacement straps on Takealot, but unfortunately not the pink ones. This is not acceptable and Samsung is *****ing from their loyal customers.
