Double charge theft

I bought a galaxy prime plus for R1999 in November and forgot it laying on the dashboard of my car for a day when to realised I had left it there it had gotten some damage, screen began making bubbles as if there was water in in my phone. I returned it to the store where I had purchased it for repairs. The phone was sent to Samsung for evaluation and received a call from Samsung to say the repairs will cost me R3000, how is it possible for a phone that's costs to R2000 cost me R3000 to repair? Who is trying to rip who off here? Very disappointed in Samsung and will not be purchasing any of there products in future now I sit with a phone that is 2 months old that I cannot afford to repair due to the crazy price they are charging me. What **************** Samsung you suck.
