DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG GALAXY CAMERA

We purchased a Samsung Galaxy Camera in Dec 2013. In December 2014 the camera stopped working , it would turn on but the lens wouldn't retract and would switch off preventing use of the camera. After much running around we finally discovered the correct place to have the camera fixed. We were advised that the camera required a new lens at a cost of R 1400.00. No problem, we happily paid to have the camera fixed. <br> Much to my dismay we were then advised that Samsung do not have the relevant part to fix the camera. This for a camera that is less than 2 years old and still under warranty. We then complained to Samsung and were advised that they would replace the camera as they could not supply the part. I was very impressed until they asked me to provide proof of purchase. The receipt was in my son's car which was ****** in Feb 2014. The company that we bought the camera from has since closed down. As we could not provide proof of purchase they were not prepared to replace the camera. What may I ask has the proof of purchase got to do with anything?. SAMSUNG YOU CANNOT PROVIDE THE PART TO HAVE THE CAMERA FIXED. We are not looking for a hand out we just want our camera fixed.
