Disgraceful staff

I was using a Samsung J5 as a backup phone after my Huawei P30 was water damaged. The J5 was giving me issues with reading the SD card and wouldn’t allow system updates. It would give an error and refer me to a service centre. I visited your Rosebank store on 16 August 2019 and was assisted by Kanyisile who’s first comment was “the phone is so old” in a very condescending manner. She told me she needed 30 minutes which eventually took over an hour. She “rebooted” my phone to which I asked if any of my data would be wiped. She confidently said no, nothing will be wiped. So nothing was backed up. Eventually, after the reboot, my phone and 32GB SD card were wiped clean. I was already late and had to rush off. I phoned the store to report what had happened and spoke to Pam who then called Kanyisile. Neither were very helpful and Kanyisile reiterated that she told me the phone is old and sorry. I said that’s not good enough and she arrogantly said “well why don’t you just report me and get me fired because you’re just being difficult”. I was disgusted at her response and more so that a manager sits there and allows her to talk to a ‘customer’ in that way. Pam then promised that she would get one of her tech guys to have a look if there is any way to recover the wiped data. I am still waiting. I can tell that Samsung does not cater for the lower income earners because a J5 is just an old cheap phone. The customer service is shockingly ********** and I will never be able to recover over 4000 pictures of my little children. I will never purchase any of your products and will tell everyone in my network about my experience.
