Deeply disappointed and disheartened in Samsung
I am a Samsung supporter, through and through. My experience with Samsung products was only ever excellent, and so I support them, choose Samsung always. Case in point in 2020 when I bought a Samsung 70" smart UHD TV, Model Number: UA70TU700K.
It came as a surprise when just a year later the TV suddenly wouldn’t turn on. I phoned Samsung to report the issue and was told that they are very busy and it will be at least 14 days until someone can come. I wasn’t happy with the time frame but accepted it. 15 days later a team came to repair the TV on site – they replaced the screen because some of those models are defective. I was informed that this issue was a known fault in these TV’s.
When I asked why the model wasn’t recalled if Samsung was aware that there were issues, I was told that a decision seems to have been made to rather wait until issues occur and then have them fixed. This isn’t what I expect from a brand like Samsung. It’s devious and dishonest. BUT the issue was fixed, within warranty so while I wasn’t happy I let it go.
Just under a year later, on 2 November blow me down the exact same thing happened. Once more we phoned Samsung, it was 2 days before my warranty expired.
The TV was collected on the 7 November, AGAIN the screen was replaced and this time we got it back on the 23 November. It was not a smooth process. After the TV was collected I was contacted by a company called Liptronic to arrange collection. It was absolute confusion throughout.
I am now out of warranty and have no guarantee that this defect TV that I bought at great cost won’t break again. I don’t have any faith at all in Samsung when it comes to their large TV and it’s shaken my confidence in the brand as a whole. I asked for some kind of guarantee that it won’t happen again and I was offered a further 3 month warranty. It’s not good enough.
If you are confident in your brand and believe in yourself then you should be able to back yourself. I would like at least another 2 years warranty or a brand new TV with absolute assurance that it’s not defective (to the best of your knowledge).
