Costly misinformation

The screen of my Samsung S6 phone cracked late last year. I spoke to a consultant at the Samsung branch in Clearwater early in November about the policy and procedure around the one free screen repair. No mention was made about me only having 12 months to get the repair done. I also wanted to buy the special cover for the screen for about R600, so it could be put on straight after the repair. There was no stock from 3 stores I enquired at!

I was on leave in December and therefore took the phone to the Samsung centre at 14th Avenue. It was then that I heard that I had to have brought the phone in within 12 months and I had missed the deadline by about 2 weeks! ie my contract was 12 months and 2 weeks old.

Had I been correctly informed by Samsung staff, I would definitely made a plan to take the phone in. It now costs more than R2200 to replace the screen. I believe Samsung should take some responsibility for this.

Thanks
