Can't buy Samsung as TTS (agent) in PE seems to be unreliable

In 2015 I handed my phone (S4 mini) in for screen repairs at TTS in Port Elizabeth. After being told that the S4 screen is not covered by the warranty and being given a quote of R2300 for repairs, I declined the repairs and said I’ll rather just collect the phone. Since then I have been trying to get the faulty phone back.

Several times I was told by TTS staff either the system is down and they can’t track it, or that they can’t find it but will come back to me as soon as they did. Needless to say no one ever contacted me back and after many trips to TTS offices at my cost and the frustration of empty promises, I was told that apparently the phone might have been ****** by staff who has been fired. The gentleman (Manager) who was helping me eventually also left the company and I was back at square 1.

When I went to TTS offices in middle September 2016 and insisted to speak to the owner or someone who can give me answers and stop giving me the run about, I spoke to Andrew (I assume is the owner). He confirmed that the phone was ****** and that TTS is busy with steps against the guilty parties. He offered then to replace the phone with another faulty phone or to build another working S4 Mini up for a R1000. I confirmed that I will take his offer under consideration and I will discuss it with my company. After discussing it with my company I wrote to the owner on the 3rd of October 2016 explaining that their problem have become mine and I asked about them having insurance. Up to today I have never received an answer. I have finally given up trying to deal with TTS (probably what they hoped for). Now it is time for a new contract. My choices are between the Galaxy J5 Prime and the Huawei P8 Lite. Though I am a huge Samsung fan, it feels like I can't count on the support should something go wrong with the phone. Thus it feels like the Huawei is the only option. Sad to have to leave my favourate product due to bad after sales service.

Reviewer Update

I posted this on the 13th of January. Today is the 17th and the time is now 12:30 and still no answer. I had someone phone me yesterday morning but since then no reply or answer. I see under the other posts about Samsung there is only a standard reply. I wonder if Samsung really care? Maybe ignoring customers is company policy or is it that the indivdual customer doesn't really matter? I was the victim of crime at a Samsung agent, apparently commited by one of their employees, and best resolve for them seem to be not to take responsibility and to avoid the customer at all cost. Wonder how many other customers had the same experience? Clearly no one cares. I give up on Samsung. Is this an example of Samsung business ethics? Shame on you. :-(
