Brand new washing machine completely destroying clothes of mine and MANY others - Samsung doing NOTHING!
I purchased the Samsung 13kg top loader with Wobble Technology on 01/11/2021. From the start, this machine would not wash clothes decently. I would continuously be met with horrible stains, streaks, fluff, lint and residue upon taking the load of "clean" clothes out of this machine.
I then began realizing that this machine was beginning to tear and stretch mine, my husbands and my, now, baby daughters clothes. My husband receives new work shirts every so often, of which every single one of them is ruined. The collars have stretched and there are tiny hair like fibers/ fluff that will not come off. I might add that these shirts are NOT cheap - and neither was this washing machine upon purchasing it. I ended up doing each load of washing on an extra rinse and spin cycle, which did not help.
I began contacting Samsung from 13/09/2022. The agent logged a report for the technicians to come out and test it. Two technicians, Justin and Michael came out on 20/09/2022. They advised that they were going to replace the entire drum. Due to load shedding, they were not able to perform the necessary checks, however they did advise that the reason for the above problems is probably due to the fact that there is only plumbing for the cold water, and not hot water. Upon leaving, we were all in some sort of agreement that if I get hot water plumbed in, my problems should be resolved, and that there was no reason or necessity to replace the drum, as this would not make a difference.
After spending more money, we did what was asked, and plumbed in hot water. To my disappointment, the machine is exactly the same. I now decided to research this machine, and visited the Samsung South Africa website. I was horrified to see the reviews on this machine. Other customers have said that the machine is doing the exact same thing to their clothes. One person mentioned that this machine has ruined their life along with their clothes and that it should have been taken off the market, and I could not agree more. How do you allow people to spend thousands of their hard earned money on a piece of ******* like this?
I can now confirm that it is NOT just me, it is NOT the drum that needs replacing, it is the whole machine and how it was designed.
With this information at hand, I contacted Samsung again on 26/09/2022 at 11:35 and spoke to Nomhle. I explained the above to her and I told her I want this machine taken away and my money refunded - I refuse to put another load of my clothes into this machine only to be ruined. She advised that a service team will be in contact with me within 2-3 working days. I advised her about five times, I do NOT want more technicians coming to my house only to tell me there is nothing wrong with the machine. I will not waste more of my time and energy, or that of the technicians. This all fell on deaf ears as Nomhle did exactly that - logged a report for technicians to come out.
This machine was clearly designed like this, all the reviews can confirm this.
With all the information and evidence that I have on this machine, I requested Samsung to collect this machine and refund my money. I am willing to take this as far as possible until I am heard, as Samsung is clearly aware of how unsatisfactory this machine is through other customers contacting them to report it (as per reviews).
I am fed-up as I cannot afford to spend more money on replacing all of my family's damaged clothes.
The fact that Samsung is aware of this is disgusting.
Attached are some reviews on this machine, along with pictures of some of my clothes when emailing Samsung. I have tried time and time again to follow up, and I get met with short, rude emails from Laurin saying "they have sent this to the voice of complaints department."
We cannot afford to go out and buy a new washing machine, but at the same time we cannot afford to replace all of our clothes.
PLEASE can this be looked into. It is not just me, but many others, therefore iI truly believe something needs to be done about this.
