Bad Warranty

I bought a Microwave/Convection from Appliance world in Herm****. I had it for about 10 months and it worked perfectly, although the door was always stiff to open. The door locking latch springs were very tight. Something I thought would ease in time. Eventually, we all got use to having to put the other hand on the oven when pulling the handle to open the door. However, one day the door handle detached at the lower end, from the door. I notified appliance world and they said bring it in. It was sent off for repair. Later I received a bill for repair and a statement that the oven had been damaged by me either accidentally or Negligently. This by the inspecting technician. and that I had to pay the cost of repair. I contacted the company responcible for the repair and tried to explain the the damage was caused by the inherent over tension of the latch spring and if he check them he would find the same. I was told that the inspection was carried out in accordance with the warranty and that if the unit was damaged the warranty was immediately void. This is the paragraph from the warranty inspection - - All warranty repairs will be gladly accepted subject to meeting the following requirements as set out in conditions a and b: a) The client is in possession of a valid proof of purchase invoice. b) The handset meets the physical inspections phase carried out by a qualified technician on our premises, purely to ascertain whether the unit is physically damage due to negligence/ accidently: both of which compel us to fail the product claim for a valid warranty repair. This meant that the springs were never checked and would not be. I was liable regardless because the rule said if damaged end of inspection. I contacted SAMSUNG SA and had a 90 minute exchange and although the person I was communication with agreed with me that the door damage may well have been caused by the latch springs being to tight the warranty wording negated the need to carryout and further inspections and I should review my option to pay for the repair or not. I had to pay for the repair or I would not see my Microwave again. I was therefore tagged as a vandal who had negligently damaged my microwave and attempted to claim on the warranty. What was worse was the fact that the repair company would not even investigate my reasoning and check the spring loading of the latch springs. All in all ad service and I am now R1250 out of pocket. Just perfect when on a pension.
