Bad customer service

Its been a two month2 now since I got my new Samsung Galaxy S8 and its a awesome phone to have. However I'm disappointed by the fact that I was not told by the Customer service agent of my network provider (MTN) that on receiving my new handset, I should ensure that I register my device on Samsung mobile care within 30 days of receiving my device. I had a chat with one of my friends the other day and was advised that if I do not register my device within 30 days Samsung will not repair any damage incurred on my device.

So I decided to call the Samsung mobile care customer care line to find out about this and was advised that if I did not register within 30 days they would not cover any damage done to my handset. Surprised as I was I said to the consultant that I was not advised by my network provider (MTN) that I should register within 30 Days so how can I be held accountable for this? Now my device is 2 months old and I am not able to sign-up.

How can I resolve this matter because should anything happen to my device where will I find the money to fix for example my front screen should it crack or break...
