Bad Customer service

I have a Samsung note 5 which i bought last year in June. I went to Samsung yesterday because my phone just went blank on Sunday morning after charging it. They said i must bring a proof of purchase to see if the phone was still under warranty so they wouldn't help me yesterday of which i found it strange that they cannot not see that on their system when was the phone 1st used. I went back without being helped after travelling many kilometers to get there that was fine and when i called their call center before i drove to Century City no body told me to bring anything. Today i went again with the proof of purchase of cause. As far as i know my phone is still under warranty because its a 24 month contract. Today they told me that i broke the phone and the warranty for damaged goods is 12 months. They told me to come on a Friday, Saturday or Monday and they can fix it while i wait and i must pay R950.00 because it was negligence i dropped the phone. I told them i didn't drop the phone because i would have know if i did and gladly pay. What annoys me the most is the fact that i must pay for something i didn't do because my 24 months warranty doesnt cover droken goods.... what is the warranty for? and why are they telling me i dropped the phone when i know i did not... Can some please explain this for me??????????????/
