Authorized Repair centre - ***********
We handed a samsung Phone in at one of your "authorized" repair centres. The phone didnt want to switch on. After numerous phonecalls to get an quote, we went to pick up the phone. On the way to pick up the phone we got phone call stating the repairs will be R4149.00 We refused and paid the R171 for the quote. We got into the car and there the phone was working and still working. NO PROBLEMS. then i look at the quote from SSS cellular. The quote states the follwing on their report - (cant power on, Capacity/ Charging Problem - Bad battery - Out of warranty - As per Proof of Purchase)
They quoted on a new LCD - R1670.00 They quoted on a new Back Glass - R830 They quoted on SVC Case assy - R1350
i Phoned SSS Cellular with this and they informed me that according to Samsung Ppolicy the Phone MUST be brought back to warranty status when the phone leaves the premises. BUT they say clearly on the quote the phone is OUT of warranty as per proof of purchase. How do they know the date of Purchase? The phone was bought on 16th March and this proof of purchase was NOT shown to them. So i would like to know why do I have to want to hand in a phone for repairs and get quoted ALL these extras when i DONT accept the quote, the phone is working again. To me it seems either Samsung is taking the public for a ride OR SSS cellular is taking Samsung for a ride in claiming from Samsung repairs that isnt needed!!!!!!!!!!
