Asking me to pay for something I didn't break
Hi there,
6 weeks ago I sent my samsung tablet in for repairs at the Mall of the South. 3 days later I received a phone call (Clara). They told me that the quotation sent was just under R4000. When I asked why it was so high, she rep**** that the tablet had damage on it and it was dropped. So I informed the lady that the tablet had never been dropped and she started to argue with me. After the conversation I was in contact with the Mall of the South again and spoke to the technician. He remembered me and told me that there was no outside damage to the tablet besides that it did not charge. I again called the customer service to ask how to go further as there was no damage to the tablet as it was not was it dropped.
Customer service then referred me back to the store that I took my tablet to, of which in the following week I spoke again to the technician at the Mall of the South. He then changed his story. By now I was getting irritated about the service received. The same week I went to the head office in Bryanston where I spoke to Praveer and told him my story. Praveer then tried to find out what happened. He then changed the repair centre (The Wedge in Rivonia) and told me that there was no damage to my tablet and that the charging board damaged the mother board. I asked him if he saw my tablet and he told me no. I then rep**** that I would prefer to see my tablet before they repair the tablet as there is a lot of different stories around my tablet.
When I went to the Rivonia repair centre last Thursday. The shop owner herself (Nina) checked the tablet and told me there is a definite damage to the tablet and now needed authorization from Samsung to repair. We called Praveer but no answer as he was in a meeting.
The following day (Friday) I spoke to Praveer and he told me that they will replace the outside of the tablet only and that I would still be charged for replacing the internal components of the tablet. I rep**** and told them that I am refusing to pay for damage made to the motherboard that was not made by myself. It is clear that the tablet was dropped or damaged whilst in the care of samsung, how am I expected to pay 4 grand for a new motherboard that I did not damage? How would you like it if you bring your car in for a service and I break your windscreen and get YOU to replace it???
I still have no update about the repair and by Monday it'll be 6 weeks that samsung has had my tablet for. I am seriously concerned about the quality of service from Samsung and this makes me highly upset cause I am a firm believer in Samsung and all of my appliances are sumsung from my phone to my microwave, my fridge and TV. If this is the type service that Sumsung provide then perhaps in future I should consider buying a different brand that don't break my stuff and ask me to pay for it. All I wanted was for my USB charger to be repaired, the tablet worked fine.
Please Samsung, I have more faith in you, please don't tell me that you do business like this.
Your soonest response will be highly appreciated!
