"Apparent" water damage on Samsung A30- a phone that has not even been close to water

I purchased a Samsung A30 and am utterly disgusted.

I had the phone for two days, it died and didn't switch on again. I then did a hard reboot, as this was apparently a software malfunction of the phone. After this, the phone seemed to work fine except for the odd glitch.

About a month later, the phone died again, this time without turning on again. I took it in to vodacom so that they could check what is wrong with it. The tech stated that the phone is irreparable due to water damage. I couldn't believe my ears. WATER DAMAGE? What do you mean WATER DAMAGE?

The water damaged indicators on the back of the phone were showing.

This phone was not anywhere near water. It was not even splashed or used in the bath, nevermind submerged and the indicators show.

I have never had this phone even close to water and the fact that there is water damage is IMPOSSIBLE.

What the actual f***?

Not only have i lost all of my wedding and honeymoon photos, I have also lost a phone that i am still paying for.

This is absolutely unacceptable and i am furious.

I have read another review of someone complaining of a similar problem.

I urge Samsung to get back to me as soon as possible. I am devastated that I have lost all my amazing memories and demand for my photos to somehow be retrieved.
