Appalled by quality of TVs and shocked by stinking after sales service

I purchased a 48 inch, smart, curved 3D TV set for R11 999 on the 31st May 2015, and it carried a 2 year warranty. Only utmost care has been given to the set, that it s why I was shocked when about a month ago, the TV just stopped showing pictures although it still had sound, I called on Samsung for assistance, they referred me to its after sales service/repair branch in Pretoria which collected the set for assessment and possibly, repairs. The after sales service team informed that the that the TV had faulty backlights, and that fixing the set will cost R14 500. You can imagine the shock and horror!

It is ridiculous that that Samsung attaches just a 2 year warranty on these expensive electronics, and it beats me that the repair cost outstrips the value of a 3 years set! My 13 year old Sansui TV is still working to date, and has never given me any problems. Surely, there is a way of repairing this TV for a lot less!! Unless the message is that Samsung parts are irreplaceable?

I am appalled that I pay so much for a TV that lasted for over just 3 years! The after sales service is equally stinking, I payed for a delivery fee of R450.00 for them to deliver the TV back as I was unwilling to pay the quoted amount to fix the TV, that was on the 1st October, the repair centre is taking me from pillar to post.

I am deeply disappointed with your service all around! You products are nonsense with shoddy workmanship and the after sales service stinks!! I want my TV back and explanation for such ridiculous cost of repair and to be compensated for the inconvenience!!
