Another Samsung Galaxy Buds+ claim not being honoured...

Firstly, I am quite alarmed at the high number of complaints very similar to mine. There is obviously a systemic problem here.

I did an early upgrade on my Vodacom contract on 23-March-2020 for a Samsung Galaxy S20+, solely due to the promotion that Vodacom and Samsung were running which included a free Samsung Galaxy Buds+. I was informed by Vodacom that the offer was valid until 31-March-2020.

I received my device on 27-March-2020 and made my claim through the Samsung Members app and also received my confirmation and courier tracking number for my delivery. After some follow up calls with Samsung Customer Care, I was informed that delivery would only resume after 1-June-2020, due to lockdown.

I now received an email from Samsung saying that my claim is not valid as the promotion was until 15-March-2020. Had Samsung informed of this at the point of my claim, I would have immediately returned my device as Vodacom would have misrepresented the offer.

It is sad when companies make marketing offers to sell more products and then come up with reasons not to deliver on those promises.

I received calls from VOC for Samsung South Africa today, refusing to honour their commitment to provide me with my Galaxy Buds+. Despite acknowledging that their confirmation email clearly indicated that I would be receiving my Galaxy Buds+, they chose rather to fall back on T&C's which was never shared before, which presumably would cover them. Very, very ********* and unfair dealing with customers indeed.
