A block in the system - Getting my phone in for repairs

On 24 January 15:31 I was logged in as customer 35 in the que to see one of Samsung's consultants at the Wedge shopping centre, Rivonia branch. My reason for being there was to check my phone in for repairs for which I was told required paperwork in the form of original proof of purchase. To my own detriment this paperwork was lost. Having anticipated that this would hinder the process, my cellphone provider (Telkom) were contacted and a letter was arranged by Thabo Penn, Specialist, Operations, Telkom Business Mobile to confirm date of purchase together with IMEI #.

The Samsung consultant refused to accept this. Being a business owner I pleaded with her to see what else could be done and politely indicated that I had little time to argue or to take this further with my service provider. Afterall I believe the confimation letter provided was sufficient documentation.

The consulant said that Samsung does not engage with service providers and that I had no other choice but to persue this myself with Telkom. More firmly, I reitterated that I had a business to run and to save myself the time and effort now and going into the future I would leave Samsung with their product, they can do with it what they want and from that point onwards I will move to another product.

The response from the consultant was consistent. She rep**** that their was nothing she could do at which point I terminated my dealings with Samsung for good and by stating I was done and promptly left their premises. 2 Days later and no-one from Samsung has contacted me to even try and resolve this matter. They obviously do not want repeat business from myself, my partners, employees and others that I know.

From this point onwards, given the opportunity, I will make a point of mentioning my experience with Samsung to all those I know and meet in future.

Absolutely amazing. I got a call almost 2 weeks ago to advise me that Samsung was addressing this issue. No feedback since then. I continue to spread the word.
