5th Time Wasn't The Charm

Loooong story...

In May of this year, I took my phone (a Galaxy S5) in to the Samsung service centre at Constantia office park for repairs. The screen was flickering and the phone constantly restarted randomly.

Luckily the phone was within warranty and repairs were quoted and took place over the period of about 2 weeks. On the day that I picked up the phone, I was in the car and after a few minutes it did the exact same thing which was suposed to have been repaired.

I then had to go back and check the phone in again for another repair after reporting this to Samsung in Bryanston. That office asked me to go back to the service centre and speak to a certain person directly. When i tried this, I was barely acknowledged and directed to the queue. After an initial check, the software was reloaded and the phone was exhaustively checked. I was then asked to bring the phone back if it did the same again. Less than an hour after getting home, the situation was repeated which meant yet another trip back the next day.

Once more, headed to the service centre and reported this. The tech then disassembled the phone and proceeded to inform me the motherboard would have to be replaced luckily under the warranty again. This took another week and I was notified that the phone was read for pickup. It felt like my prayers were answered when I picked up the phone and it worked at last. Spent an hour at the service centre just to be certain, no problems. I was advised to log a complaint with Samsung regarding this and submit all the paperwork I had so that it was noted. Alleluia!! or so I thought...

3 weeks pass and the software updates to version6 and again, everything goes wrong and the phone can't read my sim card or connect to my wifi. This of course, renders the phone useless. I submitted the complaint via email as I was told to do and received a mail stating that I need to take the phhone in AGAIN to have it checked in etc. By this time, the workman's warranty has expired. There was then a delay before I could take the phone in again for YET ANOTHER assessment...

A friend took the phone in for me and we were then informed that the fault IA EXACTLY THE SAME FAULT THAT WAS APPARENTLY REPAIRED 3 TIMES ALREADY. And with it, a quote of jut under R2900 for a repair with an additional R200 to be paid if I didn't accept their damned quote.

And this brings to today 3 weeks after the phone was recollected. Today I discover that my R12 000 phone (which has become no more than a glorified mp3 player and pedometer) has more than one hardware fault that was NEVER even an issue in the past. the body is now looser and the fingerprint scanner which worked perfectly through all the other issues is now simply non-functional and the cover inside the phone isn't even secure.

I can't believe that as a loyal samsung customer and after the **** they put me through to repair the same problem over and over (and which was clearly never actually done properly) that Samsung cannot even aknowledge a bit of accountability or even submit a tiny apology. I realise my business wouldn't even register a blip on their radar but this is truly terrible service and the best part is that it happened multiple times without a hint of acknowledgement.

What to do or say?
