55 inch Curve TV Freezing in Set-up Menu.(Factory Reset)
I am a proud owner of 3 Samsung TV sets which is a 32 , 40 and 55 inch (Curve) .
Under NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES if you want to set the TV to its original state, you only have to do a FACTORY RESET in your Settings Menu.
I bought my 55 inch Curve a few years ago, so now its out of warranty. The only thing I did ,was just wanted to Reset my Curve to the Original state that I bought it from from out of the box. Two weeks ago I decided to reset it to the Original Factory state setting, and the most stupidest thing happened when I reset it. (For the very first time).
I got to a screen (menu) ,where there is 5 steps to complete. Step 1, 2, 3 completes , but in the 4th step then TV just FREEZE all of a sudden, then nothing happens afterwards. It doesn't even reach step 5 to complete the process. I can go back to step 1 , and then it Freeze again at step 4. There is NOTHING else I can do to Exit this menu to the normal watching of the TV. I've tried numerous times to exit or switching the TV Off, but nothing happens . Its just STUCK and FROZEN in that Setup Menu.
After giving up Hope for trying everything, I decided to have a look on the internet, and founded out that MANY Consumers have had the very same Freezing Problem in the Setup Menu.
This FACTORY DEFAULT has been there since 2015 when this Curve was manufactured.
I called the Samsung Support number and they told me they've never came across this type of issue . Me on the other hand, I've just searched on the internet, and came across dozens of the exact same Problem . So now I'm very confused of what Call centre tells me and what I came across.
I've came across an article on Samsung America site that has dealt with same problem and they acknowledge the Fault.
Samsung has outsourced their repairs in Cape-Town to Litronics in Parow . Getting through to their phones is another nightmare for answering calls.
I took the TV to them last week for a quote, and they called me back to tell me that the MOTHERBOARD packed up after I've only done a silly Factory Reset .(let me remind you first-time ever on that TV)
I had to pay R250 for them to find the fault , and for them to replace the Motherboard will cost me now almost R2500 . Some of us we go out of our way to spend our last bit of money on a Good Quality Product that we know, which is Samsung. It makes us think twice or thrice to buy another product from you guys if stuff like this happens.
So my questing is, if Samsung knew about this Factory Fault on that Motherboards , Why did they not Recall , or even just REPLACE the Motherboards for free, even if its Out Of Warranty period. (If there's evidence that its Stuck in Setup Menu).
There was totally nothing wrong with the TV, I ONLY did a Factory Reset from the Setting Menu,, and I did NOT EXPECT to Pay R2500 for Resetting my TV ,
