Samsung Store S20 prices

I have been a customer of Samsung for about 10 years now. Having purchased approximately 16 TVs and over a dozen cellphones as well as at least 6 amplifiers and a whole lot of in-ceiling speakers. I had thought that I'd built a relationship of trust with the store manager and assistant manager. So recently, I ordered a Samsung S20 Ultra. Having had the item delivered I saw that the price Samsung had charged me was at least R5000 more expensive than so many other retail and online suppliers. When I messaged and brought this up with the assistant manager, I was asked where I had seen my pricing? The mere fact that a Samsung manager is not aware of handset pricing from competitors is unrealistic to me. Nonetheless I pointed to google and sent a link where the same handset with the same specification was R5,500 cheaper. Ok so at this point I have to take some responsibility for not checking the market out properly. But to be honest with the current circumstances I didn't do my due diligence and stupidly trusted my 10-year relationship not to rip me off.

So on 7th of June I sent my initial message and got a message back saying that the assistant manager would do some research. On the 8th June, she asks where I saw this pricing and on the same day I sent her a link as an example. It is not difficult to find better pricing as more than 3/4 of the websites advertised much better pricing, so I don't think much research has been done. The assistant manager also says that "we are trying to sort something out for you". We are now the 18th June and I have heard nothing back.

Now I used to be in business and I know things can move slowly at times. I also know that the current times are difficult. However, I'd have expected at least a courtesy email, WhatsApp or any form of communication to let me know that Samsung does not intend to do anything to remedy the situation. I have already taken some responsibility for a silly decision, however, after 10 years and so much business, I really expected more from them.
