Customer treated like a ******** by store manager

On 16 June I was at Samsung to purchase a TV that was on special for just under R18000.

When it came time to swipe my card, (swiped by Karishma) the merchant machine was faulty and did not produce a slip. I made the manager aware that the money had been processed as I received notification on my phone. Karishma rudely insisted that the amount would be reversed shortly into my account. She literally humiliated me and treated me like a ******** in front of other customers giving an impression that my card was **********. I even phoned my bank directly from Samsung and my bank confirmed to me and Samsung that the amount had in deed been taken from my account. Karishma still rudely refused to accept this even though the fault was with Samsung's merchant machine. I informed Karishma that my brother would pick the TV up on Monday and would pay if the amount is not taken from my account. I was called by Samsung on Monday stating that they had confirmed with their bank and my bank that the money was definitely reversed. My brother then paid from his account for the TV on Monday. On Tuesday, to my surprise, the amount had been deducted from my account. When I called to inform Samsung, I had to get bank statements to prove that they had taken the money. Samsung still refused to believe me after a bank statement was submitted to them. I had to use a large amount of my airtime to call the bank to find out where the money went. The bank once again stated that the money was in Samsung's account. In fact, the bank stated that Samsung put the amount through twice and only reversed the first amount. The second amount was definitely approved and was in their account. I informed Samsung and now they are aware that the amount is in my account.

In order for Samsung to pay me my money back that was double charged for the TV, I was then asked to give an image of the front and back credit and my CVV. That is explicitly not allowed and *******. The bank clearly states that you should never give you CVV number to anyone otherwise someone can use your card **********ly online as they would have all the information required. Now Samsung wants me to give another account to deposit the money into when they left it to me to prove that they were paid. Am I supposed to trust that Samsung will deposit into the correct account. If the money does not reflect, then they will obviously leave me to run around once again.

This unpleasantness could have been avoided If Karishma had treated me decently and did her job properly, she would have known that the amount was in deed deducted. Instead, she chose to treat me like a ******** and completely refused to even accept the explanation from my bank.

Karishma proved that Samsung store managers are not properly trained and have no idea what customer service is. Absolutely pathetic experience and I will share my bad experience with all in my network.

I have many Samsung appliances but in future, I think that I should look at other brands that do not humiliate their paying customers.

Get your act together before you lose even more customers.
