Sold the wrong products which did not make any significant difference to my water!

I was sent to Sam's Irrigation to have my borehole water tested so that I could use it to fill my small swimming pool. They said they would tell me what products to add to make it suitable for the pool.

I left my bottle of water with Iqbal to be tested. The next day I returned to get the results. He showed me another very dirty bottle of water and said it was mine, with loads of junk at the bottom. I am prettty sure it was not my water. I have kept water from my borehole for several days to watch if stuff sinks to the bottom and nothing does.

Moreover, he told me I had to buy two different products (soda ash and alum powder). He told me how much to put in. Only after I had opened both packets at home and put the powders into the water did I notice that the Soda Ash said "not for fibre-glass pool". I had told Iqbal I have a fibre-glass pool. Error #!! A big error!

Today I went to another more reputable company to have my water tested again. They use a computer which gives a detailed printout - unlike Iqbal's verbal "report". Using this more scientific method, they tested the borehole water which had been treated by the products Iqbal sold me. The products recommended by Iqbal had made virtually no difference, and definitely had not dealt with the metal in the water (which was the main problem).

So it was a waste of a lot of time, and a waste of money (over R300!) I am most unimpressed with the company and advise anyone not to go there.
