Heartless: Local merchant ignores medical emergency for a same-day error

I am appalled by the lack of urgency from Samika Store and PayFast. I made an accidental R490 purchase (for a product retailing elsewhere for R230) and contacted the merchant immediately via email and phone to request a reversal, as these funds are urgently needed for my son’s medical bills. Despite my outreach, the merchant only responded after 11:00 AM the following day. By stalling, they forced the transaction to settle, turning an instant reversal into a slow 3-day refund. We are in South Africa; there is no excuse for a local transaction caught within the hour to be held for days while a child’s health is at stake. PayFast, stop hiding behind "automated cycles." Samika, stop overcharging and start showing some accountability.
