Bad restaurant

This has to be the worst dining experience i have ever had in my life.

Firstly, our waiter was absent throughout most of the evening. We were able to talk to her on about three occasions other than asking about the ETA of the food. The first being when we showed up and placed our drinks order (which she got wrong just by the way). The second, when she came to collect our menus for the orders for food. And the third when it was time for the bill.

Throughout the 3 1/2 hours we were there we waited almost 2 hours for a Jalapeño popper and Taco platter (something which should have taken no more than 20min to be honest) . We tried to enjoy ourselves in the mean time by having conversation with our friends who organised our get together at the restaurant. This was near impossible as there was a live performance at the restaurant (we did not know of this beforehand), absolutely blaring the music to the point where we had to scream in order to barely hear one another. When i moved my car under the roof when the rain started, i noticed that i could not even hear my bakkie start nor idle.

The food is overpriced. Need i say more? It costs R50 for 3 jalapeño poppers, and R170 for the taco platter which consists of max 250g sirloin, 6 taco (actually burrito) wraps, and 6 measly portions of around 2tbs of salsa, coriander relish, red and green pepper slices, guacamole, and rice.

When i asked for the manager and talked to him about the food. I was told to be patient (1h 55min into waiting) as they were under pressure. I dont understand this, as a person who has been part of the catering business myself, underpresure is the norm. When i asked if i could just cancel the food order, i was told, "no". Now, i believe that a business should be run and exist to serve customers, aaaaand make money in the process. Not make money, and maybe we actually serve the customer with service that they would expect and delight in.

The best thing about this restaurant are the free "tequila" shots (nothing but cheap strawberry and granadilla liquer). It definitely does not make up for the bad service, overpriced foods, and ********* business practices.
