SALOMON CAN'T REPAIR THEIR OWN PRODUCT
I bought a pair of Salomon PRO 3D shoes at Cape Union Mart in early 2014. I paid cash for the shoes and put the receipt in the box like I do with shoes. Usually after a couple of weeks when I'm satisfied with the shoes I get rid of the box(unfortunately the receipt as well). In May this year I noticed that one of the links attached to the shoe where the shoe lace threads through has torn from the shoe. I see in the store that they have changed the links now with the new model, so obviously they realized it was a bad concept. I took it to Cape Union Mart Mall of the North and they said I will be paying for the repair as I have no receipt, which was fine by me. Today they phoned me and explained that Salomon SA will not be fixing the shoe as I have no receipt. This is bad service, and in MOP a bad product(or initially a bad concept of fixing the laces to the shoe) This is my second pair of Salomons and I also own a few Nike and Nu Balance shoes. Some of my Nike shoes and NB's are over 5 years old and never had any problems with them at all. I have an office job and only wear them to work (no running or hiking) This just proofs again to rather stick with proven brands I'm happy with<br>
